Mountain Retreat

Nestled in Washington State’s Suncadia planned community, Mountain Retreat embodies alpine design with a contemporary flair. Architect and homeowner collaborated to design this 2,511 square foot getaway suitable for retirement living, artfully incorporating the region’s mountain and mining style themes into the heart of the home. As such, Mountain Retreat boasts luxury at an intimate scale. Every inch serves a purpose, and interior spaces intermingle to create multifunctional rooms on a small footprint. The central great room flows out of the kitchen and into an integrated dining and living room, anchored by a stunning stone fireplace. Staggered ceiling heights create a sense of distinct rooms while maintaining a unified hub. A dramatic wall of windows peers out into the surrounding forest. Outside, the home weaves stone, steel, and glass into a hearty masterpiece suited to the landscape. Steep rooflines and natural ground gutters equip the home to withstand the winter snows and spring rains with minimal maintenance. Inside and out, every angle, inch, color, and corner of this home honors and reflects the essence of its setting. This is the art of architecture.
