Redmond: An Architect’s Perspective

Redmond Architecture by Gelotte Hommas Drivdahl
As architects, we draw inspiration from the natural beauty that dominates the Redmond community.

Welcome to Redmond

Redmond is a beautiful Western Washington city, a national hub of technological innovation, and a wonderful place to build a dream home. The unavoidable natural beauty and luscious greens meet the sprawling campuses of Microsoft and Nintendo, all of which is connected by a vast network of bike trails, walking paths, and streams. This in conjunction with the active and diverse community that inhabits its borders make Redmond one of Washington’s most desirable places to live. Redmond’s reputation is well earned, and we are honored to serve as Redmond architects.

Life in Downtown Redmond

Interior design by Gelotte Hommas Drivdahl
Our architects provide custom home design services for the Redmond region.

Close to the city yet in a world unto itself, Redmond Retreat merges beauty with functionality. Designed for a family and their four pets, this contemporary twist on a 1960s ranch house celebrates the land on which it sits. Stone, wood, and glass emerge from the hillside to form a warm shelter amongst the trees. The living room, kitchen, bedrooms, and rec room boast expansive windows with views into the forest. Quiet hallway nooks look out into the tree canopy, allowing residents to relax in the treetops with an enticing book. Other rooms connect directly with outdoor living spaces. Stone walls anchor the custom home’s interior and exterior, offering a sense of permanence and timelessness as the world outside evolves.

Redmond Architects for Your Home

As local Redmond architects, we constantly pursue the art of architecture as the calling for our work.  The constantly evolving community of Redmond provides us with an endless opportunity to answer this calling in original and dynamic ways. We delight in the process of merging the preferences and imaginations of our clients with the distinct character of the Redmond location that they select to build their dream home.

Every project presents a new opportunity to consider more deeply how we merge form with function, and to paint a portrait in architecture of our clients’ unique lifestyles.  Serving that purpose is our life’s work and greatest honor.
