Prairie House in the Virginia Woods

Prairie House in the Virginia Woods echoes the heart of Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic designs with a distinct emphasis on comfort and integrated living. Each room flows naturally into the next, creating a strong feeling of continuity between spaces. The ceilings play with wood trim and insets that allow for transitions between a variety of different heights. Angled walls create unique windowed nooks that reveal beautiful views of the surrounding trees. The living room is expansive yet cozy, an effect made possible by the low sofas and full-length French windows overlooking the patio. Subtle wisteria detailing throughout the house pays homage to Wright’s own stunning wisteria mosaic. From the main living areas to the owner’s suite, every inch of this home is proportioned to a human scale, merging beauty and livability into a single residence.
