Cedar Haven
The Cedar Haven project draws inspiration from the surrounding natural beauty. Set into an alpine cedar forest, the home grows out of the mountain with a stunning blend of stone and log, adhering to the clients’ desire for a rustic contemporary abode. Inside, vertical lines and artful asymmetry mimic the forest outside the soaring great room window. A staircase of spiralling posts echoes a grove of trees and a colorful petrified stump captures the attention of all who enter. As the homeowner requested, a great stone fireplace--“big enough to roast an ox”--draws guests to rest by its warmth and gaze upon the beauty outside.
