Design A Home That Will Compliment The Environment

Given the rise of environmentalism, the rising interest in homes that fit into natural environments is no coincidence. Such natural home designs are in no sense inferior to their counterparts, so long as their architects possess both the skill and the experience needed to create a harmonious union with their surroundings.

Some homes create a harmonious union with their surroundings, allowing its closeness to its natural surroundings to not detract from its main purpose as a comfortable residence for humans.

One such example can be found in our portfolio, situated in one of the mountain meadows of Issaquah, WA. Overall, it stands low with more than a bit of sprawl, as can be seen in the low slopes of its roofs. This lets the home remain closer to its natural surroundings than otherwise possible, making it seem more as though part of the mountain rather than an unwanted and unwelcome protrusion.

Nonetheless, its closeness to its natural surroundings does not detract from its main purpose as a comfortable residence for humans. A concrete wall runs through the home and out into the open, serving to separate the open spaces of the mountain from the more intimate premises of the home. This ensures that the homeowner can benefit from both the swimming pool and the rest of the outdoor space without ever feeling as though lost in the wilderness. Not to mention the benefit of having a private space in the open.

The interior is no less inviting. Made using simple and unpretentious materials such as wood and stone, the neutral colors make it clear that this is a home more meant for rest and relaxation than to impress. That said, this is not to say that the interior of the home has no aesthetic appeal of its own. Each one of its spaces comes with windows to the outside, providing their occupants with a constant view of nature.
