Style

Curt’s clients approached him with a vision for a stately brick home on the lake. As Curt spent time exploring their preferences with them, a gothic style home emerged. Steep gables and exquisite stonework set the Seattle home apart with an air of stately elegance. From the outside in, every inch of the home’s architecture is tailored to the clients’ lifestyle.

Two Sides to the Story

Inside, the home maintains its sophisticated style, but it takes two distinct directions. As you enter, one half of the home leads into the formal entertaining space—a large living room, a custom dining room, exits to the terrace—while the other half gives way to a less formal, more comfortable family portion. This architectural design allows the family to entertain with ease while still providing a retreat from the hubbub.

Space to Entertain

This family’s dream home included space for a truly enormous dining table. They wanted to seat twenty-eight people at a single table. Curt created a fluid entertaining space in which the dining room and living room naturally flow together. This design solution allows the family to enjoy the distinct spaces in day-to-day life but with space to bring in their banquet table when the occasion arises.

Dream Kitchen

A table four twenty-eight requires a kitchen capable of preparing food for that many guests. The spacious, cottage style kitchen offers a gorgeous range, plenty of storage, and, per the homeowner’s request, two islands. The central butcher block island lends charm to the gothic home as well as a practical space for food prep.

Pavilion

While the this gothic style home’s interior boasts noteworthy amenities, it’s beauty culminates in the lakefront backyard. The sprawling lawn, glistening pool, and outdoor fireplace offer ample opportunities for outdoor entertaining. But our clients considered everything for their guests. The porch’s leaded glass pavilion hides drop-down insect screens, so friends with insect allergies can enjoy warm summer days without danger.
