Woodland Vista is an architectural exercise in simplicity. At 1,877 square feet, this Pacific Northwest vacation home highlights the best of luxury mountain design on a human scale.
The rustic contemporary great room creates a sense of fluidity between living, dining, and kitchen spaces while using distinct wall textures to set each room apart. An open gas fireplace with stone surround lies at the center of the main living area and anchors the home. Floor-to-ceiling windows surround the house, from common spaces to private rooms, inspiring the occupants with views into the forest and the abundant wildlife. Inside and out, texture abounds.
Corten steel roofing, rugged timber siding, and stone accents draw inspiration from the region’s historic mining roots. As such, Mountain Retreat boasts luxury at an intimate scale. Every inch serves a purpose, and interior spaces intermingle to create multifunctional rooms on a small footprint. The central great room flows out of the kitchen and into an integrated dining and living room, anchored by a stunning stone fireplace. Staggered ceiling heights create a sense of distinct rooms while maintaining a unified hub. A dramatic wall of windows peers out into the surrounding forest.
Outside, the home weaves stone, steel, and glass into a hearty masterpiece suited to the landscape.
