Presenting the 2022 Snow Globe Award Winners

A warm thank you to everyone who voted in our Gelotte Hommas Drivdahl Architecture staff snow globe contest!

We’re thrilled to announce winners for each of our seven illustrious categories!

Most Entertaining

In first place for the category of Most Entertaining we have “Party in a Jar” by Eric Drivdahl. In the words of the designer, “My theme was simple: more.”

Most Clever

The category of Most Clever saw a perfect tie between two crowd favorites: “Cardinal in a Pear Tree” by Vicki Somppi and “Ikea Trip” Deepa Sharma.

Most Creative Container

Most Creative Container went overwhelmingly to “Winter Magic” by Siyao Wang with a tiny perfume jar (or similar). It was also by far the smallest container in the lineup!

Most Likely to Have Been Inspired by a Hallmark Movie

“Tree Hunting” by Kory Forde took home the much anticipated award for Most Likely to Have Been Inspired by a Hallmark Movie.

Best Last Minute Effort

For Best Last Minute Effort, “Winter Magic” by Siyao Wang takes home the prize. Its delicate, minimalist design is hard to beat.

Best Snow

The coveted Best Snow award goes to “Cardinal in a Pear Tree” by Vicki Somppi. The judges loved the large, ethereal flakes floating in abundance.

Best All Around Design

Last but not least, the winner for Best All Around Design goes to “Tree Hunting” by Kory Forde. With perfectly fluffed trees and a candy apple red truck in a stout jar, this snow globe presents an idyllic contemporary take on holiday cheer.

Thank you to all of our staff who funneled their creative gifts into this holiday design challenge, and a hearty thank you to all who joined us in admiring their work and casting votes.

It’s an honor to serve in this space with so many exceptional team members, clients, and contractors. It’s been a joy to pursue the art of architecture with you in 2022 and we look forward to working alongside you all in 2023.

Happiest New Year from our team to you!
