We thrive when we embrace creative opportunities. The drive to create, shape, and capture life and beauty in an artistic format is inherent in our DNA…whether our outlet is a Tuscan inspired villa of stone and marble or a walk through Whoville decked in frosting and gumdrops.
A Creative Exercise
It’s back: Seattle’s annual gingerbread village. The event, sponsored by the Sheraton Seattle hotel and benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, is one of our favorite annual collaborations. A delicious fusion of competition, confections, and fun, it challenges our team to stretch our imaginations and apply the rules of design to gingerbread structures.
This year’s theme is apt: Welcome to Whoville. Gelotte Hommas Drivdahl Architecture is teaming up with Toth Construction, Northwest Custom Interiors, and the culinary team at the Sheraton to craft Whoville’s main square. With mere weeks away from the village’s unveiling, we’ve got our wood base in place and our sweet materials ready to adorn the scene.
A Community Event
The Seattle gingerbread village will be on display at the Sheraton Grand Seattle from November 19 through January 1. We encourage everyone to come, experience the holiday festivities, vote for your favorite scene, and join JDRF in their mission to end juvenile diabetes.
